CZ Compensator FAQ

These are commonly asked questions about this item. If you don't find your answer, please reach out via email

What gun models would this compensator fit:

The CZ Shadow 2 and CZ Shadow Compact in 30 caliber (9mm Luger, 380ACP, 38 SPC, 38 Super)

Where is the compensator made:

The compensator is 100% proudly made in Chandler, AZ USA with American 6061 Aluminum

What are the available finishes for the compensator:

At this point we only have black hard anodized. Other colors might be available in the future to match CZ models (Blue, Orange, etc.) but at this point there is only black.

Do you take credit cards:

In order to keep costs as low as possible we are not taking card payments through processors, The only forms of payment we are accepting are Zelle or direct wire to the academy’s bank account.

How fast would it ship once payment is received:

Shipping is included in the price of the compensator via USPS Priority Mail. We make shipments twice per week.

What tools are needed to install the compensator:

Two Allen wrenches. A 3/32 and a 7/64. (not included)

What torque is required for the screws at installation:

There is no torque spec, but do not overtighten, the compensator is made of Aluminum and overtightening can strip the threads. Finger-tight is more than enough and do not use Loctite.

Can I leave the compensator installed on the gun and never remove it?

The compensator must be removed when field striping the gun.

My gun doesn’t cycle reliably after the installation of the compensator:

The compensator was designed and tested for 9x19 luger ammunition and loads from 119 to 142 grain including +p+ loads, but all compensators slow down the slide velocity and may “short stroke” the gun, leading to failures to feed or eject. If you experience failure to cycle you might need to leave some of the ports closed or get a different main spring for the gun.

What holsters fit the gun and with the compensator installed:

Unfortunately, we are not aware of holsters that can accommodate the gun with the compensator installed. We are working with a few holster manufacturers to come up with a competition (no retention) holster for the gun with the compensator installed. Stay tuned. You might also work with a holster maker to get a custom holster made.
